Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This is a scenic restaurant I have always wanted to go to and constantly appreciate on my strolls down the pier. I finally decided to treat myself to a melting moment and matcha latte and it did not disappoint! The melting moment did it's job and literally melts in your mouth from the first bite. I love my moments a bit softer to the bite and this definitely fulfills that with perfectly baked shortbread. The latte is used genuine matcha, it is not the sweet fake taste you get from the typical café that uses certain blends. It accompanied the melting moment well with flavour contrast. Additionally, service here was impeccable. Staff are kind, efficient and well presented. Overall, I recommend this restaurant for its coffee and service. They menu for a meal looks absolutely delicious though..."
"One of my favourite places to enjoy the sunset. Cafe got sweet and savoury based upon your mood. Best place to spend evenings. If you are lucky enough you can peek at penguins as well. Worth spending time for refresh."
"Very nice food but serves are a little small for the price you pay. Great location. Friendly staff. A little cheaper and you'd get five. Went again tonight to try the new menu. Awesome. Very friendly staff."
"Good place to dine and relax after a long walk. We thought that the food was overpriced but it is actually worth it! It tastes good. Keep it up! They ask you to find a table first before ordering, as you need to provide them your table number. The place is clean and has a pretty view."
"The heritage listed St Kilda Pier Kiosk is in a great location and recommended after a stroll or ride along the St Kilda foreshore, or after returning from your fishing trip. It offers both sit down or take away sandwiches, fish and chips, ciabattas, sausage rolls, pies and soup as well as coffee, milkshakes and icecream. You can also order breakfast items from the menu of the adjoining Little Blue Restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the prices reasonable. It's a beautiful Edwardian structure that first opened in 1904 but faithfully reconstructed to its original form after being burnt to the ground in an arson attack on 11 September 2003."
"Overall super satisfied with this salmon, not only the plating is beautiful, but the taste, very on point! There's salt on the skin, but gosh it's goes well with the whole dish and you just want more!! Highly recommended, worth the walk !"
"Good coffee. Friendly staff too. They also serve beer. They are located right at the end of the pier. You can watch people fishing and maybe some little penguin if you're lucky enough."
"We got caught out in the rain while walking along the Pier. The kiosk provided a nice cosy place to have a small drink and lunch. The staff were friendly, and the food delish. I really enjoyed the drink I ordered. I think it was vodka with infused chilli. I have forgotten the name, but definitely recommend it on a cold Autumn day. Will definitely go back again when we are down in Melbourne."
